Voter In Toss-Up Plymouth Says Jobs, Economy Are Main Issues

In just four short days, the 2010 election season will be in the hands of the voters. In recent years the voters in Plymouth have been good at predicting the winner in Massachusetts races. The town voted for Mitt Romney for governor in 2002, for Deval Patrick for governor in 2006 and for Scott Brown in the special U.S. Senate election last January.

Morning Edition will broadcast from Plymouth Monday as we try to take the pulse of voters there and across the state.

WBUR's Bob Oakes spoke with an independent voter from Plymouth and asked her to sum up campaigning in the state and the country.

Alba Thomas, 92, a first-generation American, was a one-time aid to former army general Douglas MacArthur, a teacher of Asian studies at Plymouth-carver high school, the first woman on the Plymouth Selectboard and the first woman to chair that board.
