BOSTON — Jurors once again returned home without a verdict Tuesday in the case of two men charged with murdering four people, including a mother and toddler, in Mattapan.
It was the jury’s fifth day of deliberations. On Monday, it announced that it has agreed on verdicts in 10 of the 19 counts against co-defendants Dwayne Moore and Edward Washington. Those verdicts are sealed. The foreman said one juror is creating an impasse on the other nine charges.
On Tuesday, Judge Christine McEvoy told the jury to follow her instructions and that it is their duty to decide the case.
“You should consider that it is desirable that the case be decided and that you are selected in the same manner and from the same source from which any future jury must be,” she told jurors.
Prosecutors say the murders of four people, including a 2-year-old, followed the robbery of a drug dealer. Another victim was shot and is paralyzed.
