Sometimes Massachusetts students who require certain special education services just aren't able to get them in public schools because the schools are sometimes not equipped to meet those students' needs.

WBUR's Morning Edition host Bob Oakes recently spoke with Elizabeth Keefe, an assistant professor at Lesley University who focuses on special education and autism spectrum disorders. We asked her if the number of special education students in the state is growing.

Correction: An earlier version of this interview called Lesley University Lesley College. We regret the error.
