WBUR and NHPR join forces for live New Hampshire primary coverage.

The U.S. presidential primary season is underway — and New Hampshire residents are gearing up to cast their ballots on Tuesday, Jan. 23. Join WBUR, beginning at 7 p.m., for special coverage from NPR, as well as regional reporting from WBUR and New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR). While you listen, follow the vote count in real time on wbur.org.

As Republican presidential contenders Donald Trump, Nikki Haley and others face off, will New Hampshire results mirror the Iowa Republican caucuses? We'll have your answer.

Nearly two dozen Democrats are also competing in New Hampshire — although incumbent President Joe Biden isn't on the ballot. A reminder about why: When the Democratic National Committee and Biden upended the traditional primary calendar and selected South Carolina to lead the 2024 nominating process, New Hampshire opted to buck the change and maintain its standing as the first-in-the-nation primary. Ultimately, Biden didn't register.

On Tuesday, starting at 7 p.m., we'll zoom out for the national context with NPR. Then, during the second live hour of special coverage at 8 p.m., we'll zoom in with NHPR coverage. WBUR's simulcast will begin around 8:40 p.m., bringing you on-the-ground updates as they unfold in real time.

Election 2024 will hum around us all year long. WBUR will help you tune out the noise and tune into the perspectives, issues and results that impact your life. Stay with us for real-time updates, deep dives and everything in between. Listen live at 90.9FM, keep up to speed on wbur.org and download the WBUR App for both live and on-demand listening.
