Candidate Conversation: Christy Mihos
By Bob Oakes
Listen to story (Real Audio)
BOSTON, Mass. - October 16, 2006 - This not the first time Christy Mihos is seeking political office. In his only other bid - in 1990 - he ran for State Senate as a Republican and lost the primary by three votes. This year, Mihos is campaigning for governor as an independent candidate.
He's well known in the public arena: Mihos has made millions through his convenience store chain and made waves as a big dig whistle-blower.
WBUR'S Bob Oakes recently visited Christy Mihos in his campaign office overlooking Boston Common. He started the conversation by talking about why he's running for the corner office just across the road.
