WORCESTER, Mass. - October 25, 2006 - On Wednesday afternoon, former President Bill Clinton will campaign with Democrats Deval Patrick and Tim Murray. The city, and the whole of Worcester County, are expected to play a pivotal role in this year's election, as in past votes.
The county is second only to Middlesex in the total number of registered voters, and in the last two gubernatorial elections, the Republican candidate carried the county by a 16 point margin.
WBUR's Bob Oakes traveled to Worcester yesterday to speak separately with representatives from both parties: Bill Eddy, chair of the Worcester City Democrats, and Bill McCarthy, president of the Worcester County Republican Club.
