BOSTON, Mass. - March 31, 2008 - Grove Hall is officially going wireless today.

Later this morning, Mayor Tom Menino will declare the completion of a pilot Wireless Internet network for the neighborhood that straddles Dorchester and Roxbury.

It marks a milestone in a citywide project that's been behind schedule, mainly due to technology snags. And the rollout comes amid skepticism about the effectiveness of municipal Wi-Fi networks.

For WBUR, Chris Berdik has more on the story.
