He said the historic structure was emblematic of the state's infrastructure problems. Westerling has more than 35 years of engineering experience in the public and private sectors, and is a past president of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers. He's an associate professor in the field at Merrimack College. Today, WBUR's Bob Oakes turns to Westerling for a conversation about Governor Patrick's proposal to repair hundreds of the state's bridges.
