The Postal Service unveils a Bette Davis stamp Thursday at Boston University.
BOSTON - September 18, 2008 - Hollywood legend Bette Davis gets top billing Thursday -- on her own stamp. The U.S. Postal Service is releasing it in Boston.

The 42-cent stamp features Bette Davis playing Margot Channing in the classic film "All About Eve."

CLIP: We're all busy little bees, full of stings, making honey, day and night, aren't we honey?

SHEA: Boston attorney Michael Merrill is Davis' adopted son and executor of her estate.

He chose the image.

MERRILL: When she was in her 20s or early 30s you would see her in blond hair in a slinky outfit but it's a more mature Bette Davis, that's the way I remember her.

SHEA: The stamp will be unveiled at Boston University on Thursday afternoon.

The school hosts an extensive Bette Davis archive.

And Davis has one more local connection: she was born in Lowell 100 years ago this year.
