Connecticut's High Court OKs Gay Marriage in Ruling

BOSTON - October 10, 2008 - Connecticut has become the third state where gay marriage is legal.
The state's supreme court ruled Friday morning that denying gay couples the right to marry is unconstitutional. Connecticut joins California and Massachusetts as one of three states where gay marriage is now recognized.
Opponents of gay marriage are working to pass a constitutional amendment banning it in California this November.
Phil Burress, who led the successful effort to pass a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in Ohio, is condemning today's decision.
BURRESS: Again, it's unelected men and women in black robes dictating to the people of America a very important issue, and that is the issue of marriage. A 4-3 vote again.
The decisions in California and Massachusetts also came down to one judge.
