WBUR CEO Margaret Low named a Power 50 'Movement Maker' by the Boston Business Journal

WBUR CEO Margaret Low joins peers across industries—biotechnology, government, hospitality, and more—as one of the Boston Business Journal's Power 50 "Movement Makers" this year. The annual list recognizes the region's "most influential people who are using their power to improve the community," reports Grant Welker for the BBJ.

Low, who recently strengthened her national media ties as a newly elected member of the NPR Board of Directors, says recognition by the BBJ is both a tribute to her hometown pride—Low grew up in Belmont and currently resides in Cambridge—and the local journalism powerhouse that is WBUR.

"What an honor to be on this all-star list alongside so many people I admire, all making a big difference in Boston and beyond," says Low. "Thank you to my colleagues who quietly tooted my horn to the BBJ, and thank you to everyone at WBUR who makes the magic happen every day. You are the real stars."

That magic extends to the work and impact of Low's fellow honorees.

"This year's group once again exemplifies those in the Boston business community who are breaking barriers, effecting change in their sphere of influence and working to build a better Boston," Carolyn M. Jones, market president and publisher of the Boston Business Journal, told Welker.
