A Special Thanksgiving Edition Of Radio Boston, Focused On Family And Food
ResumeThis is the Radio Boston rundown for Nov. 24. Tiziana Dearing is our host.
A special Thanksgiving edition of Radio Boston focuses on family and food:
- Radio Boston visits Elle Simone Scott, the first African American woman to be featured on PBS' America's Test Kitchen, at America's Test Kitchen in the Seaport. There, we make the very same pound cake that the best chef in Elle's family, her great-grandmother, used to make for her.
- We take a seat at the table with Irene and Andrew Li — who, along with their sister Margaret — co-own the Mei Mei Group, a Boston based restaurant, food truck and catering company. They discuss their family-oriented business and their cookbook, "Double Awesome Chinese Food: Irresistible and Totally Achievable Recipes From Our Chinese American Kitchen."
- James Beard Award-winning author Dorie Greenspan discusses her cookbook "Everyday Dorie: The Way I Cook," a collection of simple, beautiful recipes that don't require special skills or new gear to make.
- We talk with Stoneham-based private chef and culinary instructor Joe Gatto, who is all about making food from scratch, and getting kids involved with cooking.
This program aired on November 25, 2020.
