Teen Stabbed Near Jackson Square MBTA Station Dies

A teen from Hyde Park has died after being stabbed Thursday afternoon near the Jackson Square MBTA station, Boston police said.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the Jamaica Plain T station around 3:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The victim, who was identified Friday as 17-year-old Mason Raymond, was transported from the scene to a hospital. He later died, police said.

A suspect in the stabbing, 16-year-old Ronaldo Cepeda from Dorchester, was arrested at 2 a.m. Friday. He was arraigned Friday in Roxbury Municipal Court, according to a statement from Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley.

Also Thursday, a 30-year-old was fatally shot in Brighton, just before midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene and no suspect has been arrested.

The two murders mark the city's 27th and 28th homicides of 2015.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly numbered the two murders mentioned in the post. They marked the city's 27th and 28th homicides of 2015 — not the 29th and 30th. We regret the error.
