Consider This: Acting Mayor Janey orders Boston officials to clear 'Mass. and Cass' Homeless Encampment

Acting Mayor Kim Janey has ordered city officials to remove tents in an encampment around the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. and Melnea Cass Blvd.

That encampment, also known as 'Mass. and Cass,' is home to hundreds of homeless people.

Janey says the situation poses a public health crisis, and she wants to move the people sleeping there to city-run shelters. Critics say the city has no realistic plan to deal with the situation.
