Our Holiday Gift To You: A Special Broadcast Of “A Christmas Carol”

On Thursday, December 24, 2020, WBUR aired a special broadcast of “A Christmas Carol” featuring the voices of some of your favorite WBUR hosts and reporters: Meghna Chakrabarti, Tiziana Dearing, Jack Lepiarz, Bob Oakes and Robin Young. This 90-minute broadcast of Charles Dickens’ classic story of redemption is pre-recorded with voices, sound effects and music like a radio play.

Dickens began his first American reading tour of "A Christmas Carol" here in Boston on December 2, 1867. In years past, WBUR has hosted a reading of this timeless holiday tale at the Omni Parker House, the historic site of Dickens’ first performance. The tradition continues virtually this year and the broadcast also features musical performances from Amory Sivertson, Mike Moschetto and Quincy Walters.
