WBUR Receives A 2020 Journalism Grant From NIHCM Foundation

In its first year giving $1 million to journalism and research grantees, the NIHCM Foundation awarded 19 journalism grants in 2020. WBUR is one of the recipients of this award for the project, "Pandemic Generation".

Through interviews with researchers, clinicians, and families, WBUR's "Pandemic Generation" will explore what is known about the coronavirus pandemic’s effects on the mental health of kids and the science on remedies and interventions.

“This year’s expanded grant program will help health journalists meet the dual challenges of a greatly increased need for high-quality health reporting and the tremendous economic pressure on their profession. We are proud to invest in this powerful and informative work about how America is surviving, coping, and learning during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Nancy Chockley, Founding President and CEO of NIHCM.

The NIHCM Foundation supports timely health care journalism that informs efforts to improve the health of Americans and that examines emerging health issues and their implications for cost, quality and access.
