Officials at every level of government have a responsibility to prioritize fostering a green and equitable future for their constituents. Decisions made over the next decade in response to the climate crisis will define the future of the Commonwealth. Massachusetts has the potential to create and implement nation leading, replicable bold policy solutions.

All major candidates were invited to participate. State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz and Attorney General Maura Healey have confirmed their attendance. The forum will be moderated by Tiziana Dearing, host of WBUR’s Radio Boston.

“The next governor of Massachusetts will have the responsibility to keep us on our path toward carbon neutrality,” said ELM Vice President for Policy Nancy Goodman. It is critical they enter the office with a bold vision and plan for implementation. That’s what voters will be looking for when they head to the polls in November. We look forward to providing this opportunity for the candidates to discuss the most pressing issues of our time.”

WBUR has a lasting commitment to covering climate here in Massachusetts, and to helping our listeners and readers get informed before going to the polls. I look forward a thoughtful, substantive forum that helps the audience know the candidates better, and comb out what’s urgent in climate policy for the next four years and beyond.

WBUR Radio Boston host, Tiziana Dearing

About ELM: We advocate for policy that meets the scale and urgency of our environmental challenges to secure the health and wellbeing of the environment and of future generations.
