WBUR, Boston's NPR, to launch daily local news podcast

Introducing The Common, Greater Boston's daily podcast where news and culture meet. Starting Monday, Nov. 7, episodes will drop weekdays at 6 a.m. (ET).

The show, hosted by Darryl C. Murphy and produced by WBUR Podcasts with help from the WBUR newsroom, will present a fresh, new approach for local audiences to wake up informed on and inspired by what's really going on in Greater Boston. Each listen promises to be time-friendly, clocking in at less than 15 minutes each weekday.

The Common will tap into reporting and insights from WBUR journalists, as well as engage in conversations with changemakers, civic leaders and neighbors from communities across the state.

Timed for the 2022 midterm elections, the podcast's inaugural week of Nov. 7 will offer in-depth analysis and unique perspectives around key election issues impacting local races including explainers and deep dives in the days that follow – along with a few moments of joy and levity to round out the week.
