The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg is the latest high-profile addition to The WBUR Festival

Jeffrey Goldberg, editor in chief of The Atlantic, is the latest addition to The WBUR Festival — happening from Thursday, May 29 through Saturday, May 31 in venues up and down Commonwealth Avenue. The Festival, hosted by WBUR, Boston's NPR, celebrates the public media leader's 75th anniversary.
Goldberg broke major international news in March when Trump administration security and military officials included him in a group chat discussing attack plans on Houthi targets in Yemen on an unsecured Signal messaging platform. The journalist and editor will kick off the first full day of The WBUR Festival on Friday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m. as the guest for a live taping of the podcast On with Kara Swisher.
The Festival gets underway on Thursday, May 29 with a special live taping of NPR's Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! at Boston's Boch Center Wang Theatre and runs through Saturday, May 31. This American Life's Ira Glass will close the festival in conversation with NPR's Asma Khalid.
The three-day lineup will be a convergence of big speakers, captivating conversations, musical performances, multiple stages and a festive street fair. See previously announced details and speakers here.
Explore the full lineup as of May 6, 2025 and purchase tickets here. All ticket purchases — $150 for a single-day pass or $250 for a two-day pass, plus an option for VIP and Premium experiences — benefit independent journalism at WBUR.
