WBUR Events Internship

Are you located in the Boston area and ready for an opportunity to be a part of the WBUR community? This is your chance to join our team of volunteers and become a member of the WBURExtra street team.

The WBURExtra street team is a special team of volunteers who represent and promote WBUR to the loyal listeners, fans and the Boston community through special events around the city.

WBURExtra street teamers hail from all walks of life, ages and backgrounds, but everyone has one thing in common: a passion for WBUR and public media.

What is a WBURExtra street teamer?
Street teamers are members of the WBUR family who volunteer at special events around the city to engage with and enhance the experience of our community.

Who is eligible to be a WBURExtra street teamer?
Street teamers must be at least 18 years of age, complete all required training, comply with all WBUR standards and pass the application process.

What is the time commitment to be a WBURExtra street teamer?
There is no required time commitment. After completing the training, all street teamers are welcome to volunteer on a reasonable number of dates and times.

Can I consider this as an internship?

College students in the Boston area can consider working for the street team as an internship position after they are hired, so long as they volunteer for at least 2 events per semester.

What if I don't live in the Boston area? Can I still be a WBURExtra street teamer?
If you don't live in the Boston area, consider contacting your local public radio station. Many NPR Member Stations welcome volunteers from their communities to perform a variety of important tasks. Contact your station to learn more.
