While working on the ground-breaking reference work “Women’s History Sources: A Guide to Archives and Manuscript Collections in the U.S.” (Bowker, 1979), Ames Sheldon discovered her love for women’s history. She is the award-winning novelist of “Lemons in the Garden of Love,” a new historical novel about reproductive freedom during the 1910s and 1970s, inspired by her great-grandaunt Blanche Ames.
