Andrea O'Meara is the director of The WBUR Festival, WBUR's flagship event, featuring nationally recognized journalists, authors, and cultural figures.

Before joining WBUR Andrea worked as events manager at Cascade Public Media (PBS) in Seattle where she successfully implemented an ideas festival along with project managing all community and development events for the organization. She has been nominated for two NW Regional Emmy Awards, one for community engagement surrounding PBS's Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Roadshow and the other for Discussion/Lecture from the Crosscut Ideas festival.

Andrea is a New England native, graduating from Emerson College with a degree in Media Studies before relocating to Seattle. She's thrilled to have returned home to Massachusetts, where she lives in Somerville with her husband and two cats.
