Garo joined WBUR as a news anchor and host in 2019, following more than 20 years at WBZ-AM.

At WBZ, he served first as a talk show producer, then a news producer and writer, and finally, an anchor. Concurrently for several years, he was a weekend anchor/reporter at WATD in Marshfield, working seven days a week honing his craft.

Before that, he worked briefly at two radio stations in Atlanta, and began his career as the production director and fill-in host at Talk America Radio Network.

Garo is a graduate of the University of Hartford and lives with his wife north of Boston.
