
Micaela is a senior editor at Here & Now. In her role, she approves and assigns pitches, manages the show rundown, sets guest hosts up for success and keeps editorial partnerships running smoothly.
Before joining Here & Now, she built and led the podcasting department at KERA, the NPR member station in Dallas, TX; developed a podcast for second-generation adult children and their parents with LWC Studios; covered congress, the White House, Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration for CQ Roll Call and Politico, and worked on many different podcasts and newsmagazines at NPR in Washington, DC. She got her start in audio at member station WITF in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Micaela has done several fellowships, including the Next Gen Radio Fellowship, a YouTube news fellowship, the Maynard 200 Program and completed the Poynter Leadership Academy for Diversity in Media. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Online News Association and Investigative Reporters & Editors.
