WBUR to Cancel Connection

WBUR is canceling "The Connection" a program that debuted 11 years ago and was once the talk of Boston.

A total of eight employees have been laid off as part of the move, which station officials say is the last in a series of cuts to balance the books, while scaling back on fundraising drives.

The station also plans to shift focus and some resources from national to local programming.
