Del Valle Family Sues Pike and Contractors

The family of the woman killed when concrete ceiling panels from a big dig tunnel collapsed on her car is filing a wrongful death lawsuit.

Milena Del Valle's family is suing the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and big dig construction and design firms for negligence.

The accident occurred while Del Valle and her husband were driving through the I-90 tunnel on July 10th.

Among other charges the Del Valle family is accusing the defendants with unsafe use of bolts and epoxy and unsafe steel hangers, issues that inspectors have identified and focused on since the accident.

The Turnpike Authority would not comment on the lawsuit but issued a statement saying they are open to discussing the matter with the family and their attorneys.
