Red Sox Ride

The World Champion Boston Red Sox are returning home, a day after sweeping the Colorado Rockies in the World Series.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino held a news conference today announcing details of a parade to honor the team tomorrow at noon.

Menino says the "rolling rally" will follow a similar route to the 2004 parade beginning on Landsdowne Street, winding through Boylston and Tremont street, and ending near city hall. One exception is that the World War II era amphibious duck boats will stay dry.

"It will not go into the Charles River this year like it did in previous years," Menino said. "That's at the request of the players on the team."

The MBTA will offer rush hour service before and after the event. There will be three jumbo trons showing live feed of the parade along the route.

This program aired on October 22, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
