Boston Examines Firefighter Disability

The controversy continues over the Boston firefighter who participated in a body building contest, shortly after he was diagnosed as permanently disabled and eligible for a disability pension.

The lawyer for fire department building inspector Albert Arroyo says the bodybuilding does not mean the disability claim is false.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino is looking for some answers. He's asked the state to change the laws allowing increased pensions for workers who are hurt on the job, and he's asked the fire department for records of doctors who have diagnosed firefighters with work-related injuries.

It's among the topics that will take center stage at the mayor's cabinet meeting today.

We talked about the issue with Fire Commissioner Roderick Fraser earlier today.
