Boston Offers Loans To Stalled Projects

The city of Boston wants to use $40 million in federal grants to get stalled construction projects back on track.

Under a plan outlined by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino yesterday, the city will give loans to builders who have slowed or stopped construction because of the tight credit market.

Menino specifically mentioned the redevelopment of the former Filene's department store in Downtown Crossing as a potential loan recipient.
