NY Man Charged In Harvard Shooting

Prosecutors say drugs were at the center of this week's fatal shooting at Harvard.

Jabari Jordan Copney of New York City pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of 21-year-old Cambridge resident Justin Cosby.

Cosby was shot in the abdomen late Monday afternoon while standing on a stairway leading to a common area inside the dorm. He died Tuesday at a hospital.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerard Leone said Cosby entered a Harvard dorm to sell drugs to students there.

That's when Copney and two other men from New York City allegedly tried to steal over a pound of marijuana and $1,000 from Cosby. Police say they've recovered the drugs, money and weapon from the scene of the shooting.

None of the men go to Harvard. Police said they are still looking for two other men who were involved.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
