Mass. College Student Found Safe In Haiti (Updated)

Updated — The father of a Massachusetts college student missing in Haiti for about 40 hours after Tuesday's earthquake says his home burst with joy when the family got news his daughter had been found.

Len Gengel of Rutland says he got word that his daughter Britney Gengel had been found near her crumbling Port-au-Prince hotel on Thursday morning.

Len Gengel called it a miracle.

He says his daughter, a student at Lynn University in Florida, was carried to a chopper on a stretcher but it does not appear she is badly hurt.

The family is flying to Florida on Thursday for a reunion.

Britney Gengel was among 14 Lynn students and faculty in Haiti for a public service project.

Len Gengel says his daughter is a communications major minoring in sociology.

Update: Gengel is still missing.
