A study (PDF) out Wednesday says there are important differences between how women and men in Massachusetts experience the recession.

While unemployment is a bigger problem for men, women appear to be having an even more difficult time overall.

Professor Randy Albelda, a research associate at the University of Massachusetts Boston Center for Social Policy and the study's co-author, joined WBUR Wednesday to discuss the findings and what they mean for Massachusetts.

This program aired on March 10, 2010.
