Bridgewater Fourth Of July Celebration Will Include Fireworks

The town of Bridgewater has pulled together enough donations to move forward with its annual Fourth of July fireworks display — after a budget shortfall canceled last year's show.

Organizers say the money raised will cover both the fireworks display and the town's annual Independence Day parade.

Organizing committee member Lisa Buzzell-Curley says the group has long been raising money to cover its fireworks shows, but the committee had some fiscal catching-up to do last year.

"Well, last year, essentially, we had been left over with a number of bills that we needed to take care of that had been outstanding some two years," Buzzell-Curley said. "So, as a committee, we decided to take care of those bills and then move forward."

After paying the bills, the committee did not have enough money to pay for fireworks last year.

The display is planned for Sunday night.
