There are 500 more jobs in Massachusetts, according to the state's latest figures. They indicate June is the sixth straight month of employment growth in the private sector.

But a similar report for May showed an extra 15,000 jobs, which means the pace of growth has slowed down since then.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts' overall unemployment rate has dropped to 9 percent from 9.2 percent.

Gov. Deval Patrick spoke with WBUR's Bob Oakes about what, in his view, the numbers mean.

This program aired on July 15, 2010.
