Philip Greenspun
Courtesy of Philip GreenspunBlogging pioneer and prototypical MIT geek-iconoclast Philip Greenspun performs a striking calculation in his latest blog entry. He takes a look at the cost of a typical 40-year-old's health and dental insurance, and — in a rough, back-of-the-envelope calculation — figures that they pretty much add up to a median salary, after taxes.
"We’ve produced a great health care system for rich people," he writes, "but we forgot to make most Americans rich!"
