'The Town:' Local Author's Book Turned Into Affleck Movie

The red carpet rolls out at Fenway Park Tuesday night for the premiere of a new film set in Charlestown. The film is titled "The Town," and opens nationwide on Friday. It's directed by Ben Affleck, who also stars as a career criminal who falls for the manager of the bank he robs. The movie is adapted from a book called "Prince of Thieves," written by Boston author Chuck Hogan.

WBUR's Bob Oakes spoke with Hogan about the journey from the book to the film.
