The unusual piece of music called "Daisy" is from 1961, and believe it or not, it's considered pioneering in the music industry.

It's one of the many pieces of music presented at the MIT FAST festival, a festival of of art, science and technology, which is kicking off the weekend of Feb. 5 and running for three months.

Tod Machover is a media lab professor at MIT and is organizing the festival. He joined Morning Edition Friday to talk about some of the musical innovations that have come from MIT scientists.
