Sen. Brown Raises $264,000 From Political PACs

Sen. Scott Brown has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars from political action committees during the first three months of 2011 as he bulks up his campaign war chest ahead of next year's election.

The Massachusetts Republican pulled in more than $1.7 million in contributions during the first quarter of the year. Of that, nearly $264,000 - about one out of every seven dollars - came from four dozen PACs.

PACs representing pharmaceutical, financial services, telecommunications and energy companies - including Exxon Mobil, AT&T, General Electric, Merck and Bristol-Myers Squibb - were among the top donors, according to an Associated Press review of Brown's Federal Election Commission filing.

Brown, who courted an everyman image by campaigning in his pickup truck, also received $2,500 from a Rolls Royce PAC.
