Massachusetts ignited a revolution against the British monarchy. On Friday, its businesses are free to make a buck off of it.

Friday morning's royal wedding in London has meant brisk business for some Massachusetts retailers.

At Salmagundi, a hat store in Jamaica Plain, owner Jessen Fitzpatrick had a busy week. He’s been topping, as he calls hat sales, mostly women, who’re dressing up for early morning tea parties.

"At first I thought it was… you know you look at it and, this is strange!" he said. "But I think it’s cool."

And... could England run on Dunkin' on this wedding day? The Massachusetts doughnut chain is selling heart-shaped pastries. And lots of local restaurants are opening early for British breakfasts.
