2nd Arrest Made In Fake T Pass Scheme

Authorities say they have made a second arrest in connection with what's being called the biggest case of fare fraud in MBTA history.

A spokesman for the state attorney general's office says Gloria Escobar of Revere is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Salem District Court along with Andres Townes, who was arrested Thursday.

Attorney General Martha Coakley says Townes produced millions of dollars' worth of counterfeit monthly passes for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's that were sold online at discounted rates.

Townes worked at Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., a company contracted by the MBTA to produce passes. Coakley says the fake ones were virtually undetectable.

It's not immediately known if the defendants had attorneys.
