Superintendent Responds To Charges Of Lewd Conduct Against Teacher's Aide
PlayBoston school leaders are still grappling with revelations that a teacher's aide at the Harbor Point School in Dorchester allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with a non-verbal autistic student.
On Monday, Boston Public Schools Superintendent Carol Johnson is convening all school principals to review protocols for reporting alleged abuse.
The aide facing the allegations, 33-year-old LaShawn Hill, pleaded not guilty to lewd conduct charges in court on Friday.
He previously worked at the King School in Dorchester, where he allegedly engaged in similar conduct last spring. It has since emerged that the principal of the King School did not report the allegations, as required by state law. She has been placed on a two-week, unpaid suspension.
Johnson joined Morning Edition to discuss the incident.
