UMass Trustees Name New Chancellor For Dartmouth

The University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees has elected a new chancellor for its Dartmouth campus. Divina Grossman was chosen on a unanimous vote by the board on Thursday. Grossman had been recommended from among six finalists by UMass president Robert Caret.

Grossman is currently vice president for engagement at Florida International University and was previously dean of that school's College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Caret says Grossman will help guide UMass-Dartmouth to a new stage in its development while serving the needs of its students and the southeastern Massachusetts region.

Grossman says she's looks forward to expanding research and innovative academic programs on the campus.

Grossman will succeed Jean MacCormack, who is retiring at the end of the academic year after 13 years as chancellor.

This program aired on April 19, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
