New Selectman Surprised By Wynn Withdrawal
PlayVoters in Foxborough have spoken, and Las Vegas casino developer Steve Wynn has listened.
Wynn Resorts and The Kraft Group announced Tuesday they are walking away from efforts to develop a casino in Foxborough. That after town residents on Monday elected two anti-casino selectmen, all but eliminating Wynn's chances of negotiating a casino agreement with the town.
He had proposed building a casino resort on land the Kraft family owns across from Gillette Stadium.
WBUR's All Things Considered host Sacha Pfeiffer spoke with newly elected Selectman Ginny Coppola, who ran on an anti-casino platform.
