Woman Dead, NY Man Injured In Dennis Car Crash

Authorities say a single car crash on route 6 eastbound in Dennis has left a 22-year-old woman dead and a 22-year-old man from New York with serious injuries.

Massachusetts State Police say the man is listed in stable condition at Cape Cod Hospital.

Troopers responded to the crash at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The woman was a passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they will not release any names until relatives were notified.

Preliminary reports indicate that speed was not a factor.

The crash caused Memorial Day Weekend traffic to back up at least one mile at one point.

Police temporarily diverted traffic off of Route 6 eastbound and onto Route 134 to Route 6A or Route 28.
