Norfolk businessman Sean Bielat has won the Republican nod to run for the 4th Congressional District.

In November, Bielat will face Democrat Joseph Kennedy III, who easily won his party's primary on Thursday. Democratic U.S. Rep. Barney Frank is retiring.

Bielat beat Elizabeth Childs, a former state mental health commissioner from Brookline, and David Steinhof, a Fall River dentist.

The 4th District stretches from the Boston suburbs of Newton and Brookline to the southeastern Massachusetts cities of Taunton, Attleboro and part of Fall River.
