After a weekend filled with images and news about the tragic mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., families and children are heading back to school.

Boston-area administrators and counselors spent the weekend preparing to help parents and children who are confused by what they've seen and heard.

David Gotthelf, lead psychologist for Newton Public Schools, joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss how schools are plan to help students cope.
