About a dozen Massachusetts schools declared delays or cancellations Tuesday morning, following a brush with winter weather overnight. The closings list is here.
Up to 5 inches of snow fell in southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, while points north and west of Boston got only up to an inch.
"A little burst of snow came through, then everything became very progressive," said meteorologist Mark Rosenthal. "The storm developed too far offshore, and it's 'Goodbye and good luck.' "
There were reports of some slippery spots on the road, but the MBTA and Logan Airport reported no snow-related problems.
