The Celtics will be on the hunt for a new coach, after it was announced that Doc Rivers will be moving to Los Angeles to coach the Clippers.

The Associated Press reports that if approved by the NBA, the deal would bring Boston a first-round draft pick in 2015 in compensation for Rivers, who has three years and $21 million left on his Boston contract.

Retired long-time Boston Globe sportswriter Bob Ryan joined Morning Edition to talk about Rivers' legacy, the rebuilding season the Celtics will have next year, and whether Kevin Garnett will likely make the move to L.A. to join Rivers.

This program aired on June 24, 2013.
