One Fund To Distribute $61M To Those Affected By Marathon Bombing

This article is more than 6 years old.

The One Fund, the fund established to give financial assistance to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, will begin distributing checks Sunday.

In total, nearly $61 million will go to 232 individuals and families, all from funds collected in the last two months since the April 15 bombings.

Relatives of those who died in the attack as well as victims who suffered the most grievous injuries will each receive nearly $2.2 million from the One Fund.

"No amount of money can replace what has been lost," said One Fund administrator Ken Feinberg in a statement. "It was a solemn responsibility to allocate these finite contributions across tremendous pain and suffering, but it was made lighter by the unprecedented generosity of Bostonians, of Americans, and of people around the world."
