Connolly Leads Walsh In Latest Mayoral Poll

Boston City Councilor John Connolly has a seven-point lead over state Rep. Marty Walsh, according to the latest poll in the Boston mayoral race.

The poll, conducted by Suffolk University for The Boston Herald, has Connolly leading Walsh 41 to 34 percent, with 23 percent still undecided. (Results PDF)

The survey of 600 likely voters was conducted Oct. 2 through Oct. 6 and has a margin of error of +/- 4 points.

Walsh came in first in the preliminary election with 18.5 percent of the vote. Connolly followed closely with 17.2 percent. They will face off in the general election on Nov. 5.
